Carnival in Zlatograd
Welcome to Zlatograd on Saturday, 25th February ( a day before the Carnival in Xanthi, Greece), at 11.30 am in the Ethnographic Areal Complex - Zlatograd in order to join a unique celebration, bringing the first Sunday before Lent and “Old Martha” together. A special fire will be lit, while mummers and the wearing of scary masquerade costumes will dispel the evil spirits. Anyone who wishes can join the carnival and immerse into the real atmosphere of the festival.
Come to skip fire in order to purify yourself and also to dispel the evil forces, and in this way you will be prevented by different kinds of diseases!
Some prizes for the best costumes have been provided for representatives of three generations as well as for group performances, but our special reward is the participation in the Carnival in Xanthi in 2013.
